Why PH13-8Mo / 1.4534 for Indian aerospace, nuclear and oil & gas projects

PH13-8Mo is a martensitic PH stainless (13Cr-8Ni-2.25Mo-Al) with H950 tensile of 1517 MPa, the highest transverse toughness of the common PH grades and far better SCC and pitting resistance than 17-4PH (thanks to its molybdenum). For India's aerospace programmes, nuclear build-out and offshore oil & gas, UNS S13800 suits turbine disks and structural parts, reactor coolant-pump components, and sour downhole splined shafts and subsea valves.

Aerospace (North America & Europe): H950 turbine disks and compressor impellers (VIM-VAR, AMS 5629) for APUs at 580 C, 20,000+ hours.

Nuclear: PH13-8Mo splined shafts and pump components with ferrite <0.2%, VIM+VAR, ASTM A705.

Oil & gas (Middle East): H1000 splined shafts (1,200 Nm) in downhole mud pH 311, 2+ years stable; 500+ H1050 offshore valve forgings, 5 years leak-free.

Marine: H1100 propeller shafts on 10+ bulk carriers.
