FV520B / X5CrNiMoCuNb14-5 is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless (13Cr-6Ni-2Mo-2Cu-Nb) with corrosion resistance comparable to 304 stainless and clearly better pitting and intergranular resistance than 17-4PH, plus high strength (Rm 9251090 MPa, yield 800 MPa). For Indian thermal and combined-cycle power, refinery and offshore duty, FV520B / 1.4594 is a strong fit for turbine blades, pump and valve parts and marine components where 17-4PH would be only marginal in chloride service.
