Why 1.4939 / X12CrNiMo12 for Indian turbine and power projects

1.4939 is a martensitic Cr-Ni-Mo creep-resisting steel with clearly superior strength retention above 400 C compared with lower-alloy 12% Cr grades the defining property for components sized against 100,000-hour creep-rupture life. For India's gas/steam-turbine, power-generation and oil & gas sectors, 1.4939 suits rotor shafts, turbine blades, impellers, disks, blisks and turbine bolts.

Gas/steam turbines: rotor shafts, blades/vanes, impellers, disks, blisks, rotor end rings, guide/seal/labyrinth rings, turbine bolts.

Power generation: rotating/static components to 100,000-hour creep design life.

Manufactured to EN 10269, ASME SB; EAF/AOD/VOD melting + optional ESR; 100% UT per SEP 1923 after all heat treatments; full chemistry; EN 10204-3.1 / 3.2.
