Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (6370% Ni, 2834% Cu) with seawater corrosion < 0.025 mm/year and unmatched resistance to hydrofluoric acid the standard material for HF alkylation units in refineries, for coastal/offshore seawater service, and for caustic process equipment. For sour (HS) wellhead service it complies with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 at 35 HRC.
