Chemistry (EN 10085, wt%): C 0.280.35, Si 0.40, Mn 0.400.70, Cr 2.803.30, Mo 0.300.50 (Al-free). Q&T core + nitrided surface to ~800 HV; nitride ~480570 C; good strength to ~600 C. Not for welding.

Standards & quality

Manufactured to EN 10085 / EN 10083-3; 100% ultrasonic testing; EN 10204-3.1 / 3.2 MTRs; full chemistry and mechanical testing per heat. 31CrMo12 and W.Nr. 1.8515 are the same grade; no exact AISI equivalent.
